Businesses confronting the challenge of matching product and software features and requirements to implement an automated workflow process can now find peace of mind knowing that KODAK and Cabinet NG Products are certified compatible across multiple scanning platforms. Certification includes meeting an assortment of scanning tests for image acquisition and data transfer, image quality, simplex and duplex mode operation, and enhanced functionality tests such as automated workflow and full text search of scanned pdf documents.
The KODAK Scan Station 100 is a network scanner that quickly and easily turns paper documents into digital files with the touch of a button that can be simultaneously shared via email, stored on the network, sent to networked printers and copiers, and saved on portable USB drives—all without a computer. It connects to existing network infrastructure and features intuitive and interactive operation—including image preview of scanned images prior to sharing—from a full-color touch screen. The innovative Scan Station won a “Best of Show” award from a field of more than 200 products at FOSE in Washington, D.C., the premier government technology tradeshow, earned an “Editor’s Choice” designation from Better Buys for Business Magazine and garnered a “Best of the Best 2006” recognition from Office Solutions Magazine.

Users can scan documents and initiate workflows in a single process using Cabinet NG's Shared Access Filing Environment (CNG-SAFE) filer interface. The comprehensive, yet simple to use, CNG-SAFE filer interface also gives the user a complete set of options that include setting document security levels, choosing what cabinet, folder, and folder tab the document will be stored, setting a retention policy, and using template driven naming templates.
The Kodak/Cabinet NG combination also adds the flexibility of separating the scanning, filing and workflow functions across multiple users. For example, scanning personnel could prepare and scan documents in batches, allowing knowledge workers to manage the filing and workflow process using the CNG-Batch interface.
Cabinet NG's recently enhanced content search feature performed effortlessly with the searchable pdf files that all these scanners support. Searchable pdf completes the arsenal of tools the user has to quickly locate information in Cabinet NG. Searchable pdf files make it possible to locate a misfiled scanned image using full text search and then move it to its proper location or to locate specific documents based on content for research, audit, or other similar processes where collection of documents based on content is critical.
Cabinet NG's document management software stops paper pileups at the source.
